Can you help Gairloch Heritage Museum move into its ‘new home’? We have found a suitable building but it’s going to need about £2 million in order to make it into an appropriate place for the present collection. Because it’s so large it will be ideal for displays, exhibitions and archives. Where is this? It’s the old Highland Council ‘Roads Depot’, situated in the centre of Gairloch. It might not look very inviting at present but it’ll be ideal once it’s converted to house our ever-growing historical collection.
We have to raise 10% of the cost of the project which is why we are asking for pledges of support. No payment is needed now – just a promise to donate an amount in 2016.
Any amount of money will be gratefully received but we hope that there will be individuals, families and groups who could donate £1000. Your help will be recorded in a book which will be on permanent display in the new museum. A pledge form can be downloaded which should then be sent back to the museum.
We will keep everyone informed as to the amount raised each month by placing this in the local newspaper, the Gairloch & District Times, and every so often we will update the website to the amount promised.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
